Step by step
How to use List Formatter
Step 1: Paste one list item per line. Choose Bullets, Numbered, Custom or Comma-separated and decide whether to skip empty lines.
Step 2: For numbering, set Starting number. For Custom, set prefix and suffix. Select Format list to preview the selected style.
Step 3: Review existing markers and spacing. Copy or download the list; comma-separated mode joins text and does not apply CSV quoting.
Example to try
Load example, select Numbered and set the start to 3. The three output lines begin 3. Apples, 4. Bananas and 5. Oranges.
Format one item per line
Start with a list where each input line is one item. Bullets adds a bullet marker and a space. Numbered adds consecutive whole numbers starting from the chosen value. Custom wraps each line with the prefix and suffix you enter, so bracketed values or simple labels can be produced without editing every line manually. Original item text is retained.
Join items with commas when appropriate
Comma-separated mode joins items with a comma and a space. It is a plain-text list rather than a CSV serializer: commas, quotes and embedded structure inside items are not escaped. Use JSON to CSV Converter when you need properly quoted spreadsheet data. Skip empty lines is enabled by default; disable it if blank positions in the source list are important.
Output limits and local processing
This formatter does not trim item text or change case automatically. Choose Text Cleaner for whitespace preparation or Case Converter for capitalization, then paste the result here. The selected controls are only applied when you run the tool. Changing the style or any option clears the previous result so an old list cannot be mistaken for the current preview.
Inputs and results are held only in this page's memory. Text inputs accept up to 100,000 character units each. Oversized pastes are rejected while preserving the previous input. Generated output is limited to 5,000,000 character units. No sign-up is needed. Copy and download actions are explicit; the tool does not upload your drafts or save them for a later visit.
