How to make a meme
Step 1: Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP picture on the box above, or select Choose file.
Step 2: Type the top text, the bottom text or both.
Step 3: Select Make meme, check the preview, then Download image.
The classic look
Text is set in capitals, in a heavy typeface, white with a black outline, so it reads on any background. The font size adapts to the picture and to how much you write: short lines are big, longer ones shrink and wrap onto up to three lines so they stay inside the image.
The tool uses Impact where your device has it, the typeface classic memes use, and a similar bold font where it does not, so the look can differ slightly between computers and phones.
Tips
Short lines work best: a few words at the top to set up the joke and a few at the bottom to land it. Pictures with plain areas at the top and bottom keep faces visible. You can leave either line empty.
The meme keeps the picture's format and size, and it has no watermark. Text in any language your device can display works, including emoji.
