Step by step
How to use Text Cleaner
Step 1: Paste copied text into Input. Select only the cleanup actions you need; leave trimming off if indentation matters.
Step 2: Select Clean text. Space cleanup runs before trimming, blank-line removal and exact duplicate removal.
Step 3: Compare the preview with your source. Copy or download the cleaned text only after checking paragraph breaks and repeated lines.
Example to try
Enter two lines containing the same phrase with different extra spaces. With collapse and trim enabled, both become the same line; selecting duplicate removal then keeps just the first.
Select cleanup actions independently
Repeated spaces and tabs can appear when copying text from emails or documents. Collapse repeated horizontal whitespace turns those runs into one space without joining separate lines. Trim each line removes leading and trailing whitespace. These actions are separate checkboxes so you can retain indentation when it matters or remove it when preparing a clean paragraph for a form.
Remove empty and repeated lines deliberately
Remove empty lines discards lines that contain only whitespace. Remove duplicate lines keeps the first occurrence of each exact line after the selected whitespace transformations have been applied. Comparisons are case-sensitive, so Hello and hello remain separate lines. The order of the surviving lines stays unchanged. Use Line Sorter if you also want to reorder them alphabetically or with numeric awareness.
Output limits and local processing
The example includes a spaced greeting, a blank line and a repeated greeting. With default options, spacing is normalized and lines are trimmed; duplicate and blank-line removal remain optional. Newline styles are normalized to Unix line breaks in the output. The tool does not correct spelling, remove punctuation or rewrite sentences, and it never changes the input box when producing the preview.
Inputs and results are held only in this page's memory. Text inputs accept up to 100,000 character units each. Oversized pastes are rejected while preserving the previous input. Generated output is limited to 5,000,000 character units. No sign-up is needed. Copy and download actions are explicit; the tool does not upload your drafts or save them for a later visit.
