Step by step

How to convert JPG to PDF

  1. Step 1: Drop your JPG photos on the box above, or select Choose files.

  2. Step 2: Put the photos in page order by dragging them or using the arrow buttons, then pick portrait or landscape.

  3. Step 3: Select Create PDF, then Download PDF.

Photos stay sharp

A JPG is already compressed, and compressing it again would lose more detail. So most photos are copied into the PDF unchanged. Only photos that must be turned upright, or that use print-style CMYK colour, are converted first, at a high quality.

Because photos keep their full resolution, the PDF can be roughly as large as the photos together. Phone photos are often 2 to 5 MB each; if you need a smaller PDF for email, use Resize image or Compress image on the photos first.

Page size and layout

Each photo is placed on its own A4 page with a half-inch margin, scaled to fit and centred, so no part of the photo is cut off. Choose landscape pages for photos taken sideways and portrait pages for documents and people.

Photos of documents

Taking a photo of each page of a form or letter and combining them here gives you a single PDF to send. For the clearest result, photograph pages in good light, straight on, and crop away the table around them before converting.

Have PNG or WebP images too? Image to PDF accepts all three formats in one PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting JPG to PDF reduce photo quality?
Usually not. Most JPG photos are placed in the PDF without being compressed again. Photos that need rotating or colour conversion are re-saved at a high quality.
Why are my photos sideways in other PDF tools?
Phones store the rotation as a separate note. This tool reads that note and turns each photo upright before adding it to the PDF.
Can I choose the page order?
Yes. The list shows the page order; drag a photo or use its arrow buttons to move it, and the PDF follows that order.
How many photos can I add?
Up to five photos per PDF, within the size limits shown below.
Is this private?
Yes. The PDF is created inside your browser tab; your photos are not uploaded or stored.
