Step by step
How to crop a PDF
Step 1: Drop a PDF on the box above, or select Choose file.
Step 2: Set how many millimetres to trim from each edge. Leave the pages empty to crop every page.
Step 3: Select Crop PDF, then Download PDF.
How cropping works
Crop PDF trims the same distance from all four edges of each page you choose. It is the quick way to remove wide white margins, a dark border left by a scanner, or printer marks around a page.
The tool sets the page's crop box, the area PDF readers show and print. The content outside it is hidden rather than deleted, so text and images inside the crop are untouched: nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed, and text stays selectable.
Choosing a margin
10 mm removes a typical white border without touching the text on a standard page. Try a small value first and check the result; you can always crop again. The tool refuses a margin that would leave almost nothing of a page, about 2.5 cm or less on a side.
Because the trimmed area is hidden rather than removed, cropping is not a way to remove private information. To remove content for good, use a redaction tool instead.
Private
Cropping happens inside your browser tab. Your PDF is never uploaded, and the original file on your device is not changed.
