Step by step
How to extract pages from a PDF
Step 1: Drop a PDF on the box above, or select Choose file. Its page count appears straight away.
Step 2: Type the pages you want, for example 1-3, 7, 5. They go into the new PDF in the order you type them.
Step 3: Select Extract pages, then Download PDF to save the new file.
Choosing pages and order
Type single pages and ranges separated by commas. 1-3, 7 takes pages 1, 2, 3 and 7. The new PDF follows the order you type, so 7, 1-3 puts page 7 first. You can even repeat a page, for example to add a cover page twice.
Page numbers are the ones your PDF reader shows at the bottom of the window, starting at 1. As you type, the tool checks the numbers against the page count and explains any problem before you run it.
What stays the same
Your original PDF is not changed: the tool makes a new file containing copies of the pages. The copied pages keep their text, images and layout exactly, without re-compression.
Bookmarks and interactive form fields belong to the whole document and may not come across. For removing a few pages instead of keeping a few, Delete PDF pages is quicker.
When this is useful
Send only the signed page of a contract, share one chapter of a report, or pull the relevant pages from a long manual before printing. Because the work happens in your browser, confidential pages are never uploaded.
