Step by step

How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. Step 1: Drop a PDF on the box above, or select Choose file. Its page count appears straight away.

  2. Step 2: Type the pages to remove, for example 2, 5-7. Page numbers start at 1.

  3. Step 3: Select Delete pages, then Download PDF to save the shorter file.

Choosing pages to remove

Type single pages and ranges separated by commas: 2, 5-7 removes pages 2, 5, 6 and 7. The order you type them in does not matter, and typing a page twice is harmless. The remaining pages keep their original order.

A PDF needs at least one page, so the tool will not remove every page. If you select them all, it tells you to keep at least one.

What changes, and what does not

Only the chosen pages are removed. The other pages keep their text, images and layout, with no re-compression, and the document information such as its title is kept. Page numbers printed on the pages themselves do not change, because they are part of the page content.

You download a new file; the PDF on your device is not changed until you replace it yourself.

Private and quick

The pages are removed inside your browser tab, so blank scan pages, cover sheets or confidential pages are never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete several pages at once?
Separate them with commas and use a dash for ranges. For example, 1, 4-6, 10 removes five pages in one go.
Can I undo a deletion?
Your original PDF is not touched, so you can always start again from it. Keep the original until you have checked the new file.
Why does the page number at the bottom of the page not change?
Numbers printed on a page are part of its content, like any other text. Removing pages does not rewrite them.
Why can't I delete all the pages?
A PDF must have at least one page, so the tool keeps at least one.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser tab, on your device.
