Step by step
How to sign a PDF
Step 1: Drop a PDF on the box above, or select Choose file. The first page opens large.
Step 2: Draw your signature or type your name, then select Place signature on the page. Drag it into position and drag a corner to resize it.
Step 3: Select Sign PDF, then Download PDF.
Draw it or type it
Draw with a mouse, a finger on a touch screen or a stylus; with a pen, the line follows your pressure. If you prefer, type your name and it is set in a handwriting-style font from your device. Black and blue ink are available.
Your signature is trimmed to the ink and kept on a transparent background, so it sits on the page without a white box around it. Use Place it again on this page to add it to more pages, such as initials on every page.
What kind of signature this is
This adds a picture of your signature to the page, which is what most everyday forms, letters and agreements ask for. It is not a certified digital signature: it does not prove who signed or detect later changes. If a document asks for a qualified or certificate-based signature, use the service the sender names.
The rest of the PDF is kept as it was: text stays selectable and the pages are not re-rendered.
Using a keyboard
After you place a signature, focus it with Tab. The arrow keys move it, Shift with the arrows moves it further, Alt with the arrows resizes it, and Delete removes it. The Type tab lets you make a signature without drawing.
Private
Your signature and your PDF stay inside your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, and the signature is forgotten when you close the page.
