Step by step
How to upscale an image
Step 1: Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image on the box above, or select Choose file.
Step 2: Choose how much larger: 2×, 3× or 4× the width and height.
Step 3: Select Upscale image, then Download image and check the preview.
What upscaling does
Upscaling makes an image bigger in pixels: 2× doubles the width and the height, so a 1000 × 750 photo becomes 2000 × 1500. That helps when a website, print shop or form asks for a minimum size, or when a small image looks blocky when shown large.
The new pixels are calculated with Lanczos resampling, a high-quality method that keeps edges smooth rather than blocky. It cannot invent detail that was never captured: a blurry photo stays soft when enlarged. This tool does plain resampling, not AI enhancement.
Size limits
The result can be up to 40 megapixels. Doubling multiplies the pixel count by four, so a 12 megapixel phone photo is too large to double (it would be 48 megapixels), while a 10 megapixel one fits. The tool tells you before it starts if the result would be too large.
The image keeps its format: a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG keeps its transparency. Larger images make larger files, roughly in proportion to the number of pixels.
Private
Enlarging happens inside your browser tab. Your image is never uploaded. Very large results need a lot of memory, so a desktop browser handles them more easily than a phone.
