Step by step
How to convert PDF to JPG
Step 1: Drop a PDF on the box above, or select Choose file. Its pages appear as thumbnails.
Step 2: Click the pages you want, or leave them all unselected to convert every page. Then pick a resolution and quality.
Step 3: Select Convert to JPG, then Download. Several pages come as one ZIP file.
Choosing a resolution
Resolution decides how many pixels each page gets. 96 dpi gives screen-sized images, enough to preview a page or post it on social media. 150 dpi, the default, keeps small text readable. Choose 300 dpi for printing or for zooming into fine detail; the images are about four times as large as at 150 dpi.
Very large pages, such as posters or technical drawings, are rendered at a lower resolution when needed to stay within the megapixel limit shown below.
How the images are made
Each page is drawn in your browser by PDF.js, the same PDF engine Firefox uses, on a white background, and saved as a JPG at the quality you choose. Text becomes part of the picture, so it can no longer be selected or searched; keep the PDF if you need that.
Up to 50 pages can be converted at once. One page downloads as a JPG; more pages download together in a ZIP file, named with their page numbers.
Private
Your PDF is read and drawn on your own device and is never uploaded. Password-protected PDFs need their protection removed first.
